Traveled to Oregon for a road trip with my daughter for a week, starting in Ashland, where hippies go to “retire.” Beautiful Lithia Park there where we encountered an unexpected visitor in the creek we waded in. Next up was Crater Lake National Park, an astonishing place with the deepest lake in North America formed by a collapsed caldera and a volcano inside the volcano. You’ve never seen blue until you go there. Off to the coast to stay at the Haceta Lighthouse B&B near Florence and Yachats, with birds, sea lions, cliffs, fog and a lunar eclipse. On to Portland for a couple of days where the waterfront features a sprinkler.
